Councillor Josh Matlow has served on Toronto City Council representing Ward 12 Toronto–St. Paul’s since 2010. Since first being elected, he has been re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022, reflecting continued confidence from residents in one of Toronto’s most engaged communities.
Before joining City Council, Councillor Matlow served as a Toronto District School Board trustee from 2003 to 2010, where he gained valuable experience in public leadership and community representation. His background in both education governance and municipal politics has helped shape his approach to advocacy and public service.
In addition to his work on Council, Councillor Matlow was a candidate in the 2023 Toronto mayoral by-election, adding mayoral campaign experience to his political background and further broadening his perspective on city-wide leadership.
