Speaker Announcement: Steve de Eyre at Municipal Masterclass

Digital platforms continue to play an increasingly important role in how governments, campaigns, and public institutions communicate with audiences. At Municipal Masterclass 2026, attendees will hear from professionals working at the intersection of technology, policy, and public engagement, including Steve de Eyre.

Steve de Eyre is the Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs for Canada at TikTok, where he works with governments and public sector organizations to support conversations around platform safety, privacy, and how Canadians use digital spaces to share information, culture, and ideas.

His work focuses on helping government stakeholders better understand how platforms like TikTok operate within today’s communication landscape and how digital platforms engage communities at scale.

Before joining TikTok in 2020, Steve de Eyre founded and led Amazon Canada’s public policy team. His background also includes service at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., where he represented Innovation, Science & Economic Development Canada.

Through these roles, Steve has developed experience working across government relations, public policy, and technology. His perspective brings together an understanding of digital platforms, regulatory environments, and public sector communication.

In addition to his professional work, Steve serves on the Boards of Sheridan College and MediaSmarts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Bishop’s University and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
